Qatar End of Service Calculator 2026

Qatar’s gratuity rule is the simplest in the Gulf — and the most misrepresented online. Article 54 of Law No. 14 of 2004 sets a flat minimum of 21 days’ basic wage per year of service: no tiers, no cap, no resignation cut. This calculator uses the statute as published in Qatar’s official Al Meezan database.

Calculate your Qatar gratuity ESTIMATE ONLY

How it works: daily wage = last monthly basic ÷ 30 (a common convention, not statutory text). Gratuity = daily wage × 21 × years of service, prorated for partial years. Under one year of service = nothing. No cap, no resignation reduction.

TEST CASES (hand-verified 2026-10-09): (6000,7.5y)->31500.00; (6000,1y)->4200.00; (6000,0.5y)->0; (20000,25y)->350000.00 no cap; resigned (6000,4y)->16800.00 no reduction

The formula: Article 54

One line, no tiers: at least 21 days’ remuneration for every year of service. The statute uses the last basic wage as the basis — allowances excluded — and allows the employer to deduct proven debts. Employers and workers may agree a higher amount, never lower.

The fake “2026 tiers” — debunked

Ranking pages promote “2026 New Rules” tables claiming 28 or 35 days per year. We checked the source that matters: Qatar’s official Al Meezan legislation database still publishes Article 54 with the flat 21-day minimum. A separate Law No. 9 of 2026 was issued in June 2026, but whether it touches Article 54 is unverified — and no tiered gratuity table appears in the official text. Until Al Meezan shows otherwise, the flat 21-day rule stands.

Worked example

Last basic wage: QAR 6,000 · Service: 7.5 years · Resigned

  • Daily wage = 6,000 ÷ 30 = QAR 200
  • Per year = 200 × 21 = QAR 4,200
  • Total = 4,200 × 7.5 = QAR 31,500
  • No cap applies; resignation changes nothing

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my Qatar end-of-service gratuity?

Divide your last monthly basic wage by 30 to get the daily wage, then multiply by 21 days for each year of service (prorate partial years). Example: QAR 6,000 basic and 7.5 years gives 200 × 21 × 7.5 = QAR 31,500.

Is there really no cap on Qatar gratuity?

Correct — Article 54 of Law No. 14 of 2004 sets no maximum cap. Websites claiming a “two-year cap” are not citing the statute.

What are the fake 2026 tiered rates?

Some ranking pages invented “2026 New Rules” tables claiming 28 or 35 days per year. The official Al Meezan database still publishes Article 54 with the flat 21-days-per-year minimum. No official tiered amendment exists.

Does quitting reduce my Qatar end-of-service benefit?

No. Article 54 grants the gratuity regardless of how the employment ended. Only summary dismissal for serious misconduct forfeits it.

Do domestic workers in Qatar get end-of-service benefits?

Yes — domestic workers are covered separately by Law No. 15 of 2017, which sets the same minimum of three weeks’ (21 days’) wage per year.
